Field Notes: BLACK AND YELLOW GARDEN SPIDER

The Black and Yellow Argiope, more commonly known as the Black and Yellow Garden Spider, is conveniently named. It is black and yellow and is often found in gardens. It is a large spider, growing more than an inch across, that creates fairly large webs to catch prey. I often see them in some of the wildlife refuges and parks I frequent.
